Amy Pillarella serves as the Family Resource Center Director at United Way of Greater New Bedford, where she has been making an impact for since 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bridgewater University and brings a strong foundation in family support, youth wellbeing, and community engagement to her role. Amy is responsible for leading the FRC team and overseeing all aspects of the center’s services, operations, and supports for families and the community.

Amy is a certified Parent Café Facilitator and holds credentials in Youth Mental Health, CPR/First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).

She is an active member of several community-driven committees and advisory boards, including:

  • NBCCC Advisory Board
  • Healthy Families Advisory Board
  • SEMA Infant Mental Health Task Force
  • FELT with the Department of Children and Families

Her dedication to supporting children and families has been recognized through the Department of Developmental Services Service Award, and she has been featured in Exceptional Parent Magazine for her leadership in services for children with disabilities.

In her work at United Way, Amy most values the opportunity to witness meaningful change firsthand. For her, the most rewarding moments come from seeing families stabilize, watching parents grow more confident, and helping children access services that allow them to thrive.

Amy speaks basic American Sign Language and enjoys spending time gardening, being outdoors, couponing, reading, and collecting beach glass. A fun fact about her: she has two lizard tattoos - an expression of her personality and love for unique experiences. Above all, Amy finds joy in watching growth-whether it’s a seed blossoming into a vibrant flower or a staff member developing into a strong, confident leader.
