Clarisa Sanchez recently joined United Way of Greater New Bedford Family Resource Center a Family Support Worker is excited to bring her passion for service and community impact to the team. She brings strong educational and volunteer experience that align deeply with the organization’s mission.

Clarisa holds an Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Bristol Community College, where she also earned a Certificate in Human Services, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. While attending Bristol Community College, she had the opportunity to expand my global perspective by studying abroad in Spain through a program with the University of Rhode Island. This experience helped her develop cultural awareness, adaptability, and strong communication skills when working with people from diverse backgrounds.

She is passionate about helping families access resources and support systems that improve their well-being. She values empathy, collaboration, and community engagement, and is committed to making a positive impact by connecting individuals and families with the services they need to thrive. She is bilingual in English & Spanish and has worked as an ABA for 5 years. 

Dedicated to giving back, Clarisa volunteers with several local organizations, including:

  • Gifts to Give
  • Meals on Wheels

Her academic achievements include receiving the Outstanding Overall Senior Award and the Academic Excellence Award. 

Outside of work, Clarisa is a proud bookworm who has been part of a book club for two years. She enjoys reading, exploring new foods, and traveling whenever she can.
