Fatima Galarza serves as a School Liaison and CRA Coordinator at United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Family Resource Center, where she has been making an impact since 2023. In her role, Fatima works in a community‑based capacity to strengthen connections between families, community partners, and local school systems. Her work ensures that families have access to the support they need while schools remain informed and engaged with the broader community landscape.
She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work online through Boston University. She holds a B.A. in Collaborative Health & Human Services with a minor in Psychology from California State University, Monterey Bay, as well as dual associate degrees in Public Health and Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Psychology from Hartnell College.
Bilingual in English and Spanish - and currently learning American Sign Language - Fatima values communication and connection in all forms. One of her favorite parts of working at UWGNB is participating in community events hosted by the Family Resource Center and United Way. She loves seeing families come together and supporting the community in meaningful ways.
A California native, Fatima brings a warm West Coast spirit to her work. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing volleyball, exploring different forms of art, diving into video games, and picking up new hobbies whenever inspiration strikes.
