Savannah Sierra has been a dedicated member of United Way of Greater New Bedford for nearly five years, beginning her journey as an intern. Her deep commitment to supporting families and strengthening community partnerships has made her an invaluable part of the UWGNB team. She was recently promoted to Program Manager at the New Bedford Family Resource Center.
Savannah is a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and holds an Associate in Science in Human Services from Bristol Community College. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bridgewater State University. Throughout her career, she has continued to expand her expertise through a wide range of certifications including:
- Nurturing Parenting Program Facilitator Training
- Nurturing Parenting Skills for Parents in Supervised Visitations
- Nurturing Fathers Program
- Parenting Journey I & II
- Nurturing Program for Families in Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery
As a bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish, Savannah is passionate about ensuring that all families feel heard, respected, and empowered. Her work is grounded in empathy, relationship-building, and a belief in meeting people exactly where they are. She is proud to serve a community that continually demonstrates resilience, strength, and love.
Savannah’s favorite part of working at United Way is being part of an organization that truly believes in the power of community. She finds purpose in collaborating with others who share her dedication to creating meaningful change and improving the lives of families throughout Greater New Bedford.
Outside of her professional role, Savannah enjoys volunteering with her children at United Way’s Mobile Markets during the summer. She loves spending quality time with her family, listening to worship music, and creating memorable moments with her children.
A fun fact about her—despite being born in the winter, she wishes she had been born in the summer, which might explain her love for sunflowers.
